Our Comments

The Elwood CC became the Cattails Golf Club in 2004.

4/28/01 - In good shape with moderately slow and immaculate greens.

Each teebox except on hole #9 is pleasantly situated under a shade tree. Benches are provided. While we've never seen any wait at Elwood, it would be a great place to play a relaxed round.

There is an out of bounds on the left on 4 holes.

This is a tougher course than the rating and slope show. The long holes are very long. Stuff like 590 yds, 440 yds, 208 yds. Plenty of sand and even more grassy bunkers add to the challenge.

White and Blue tees interchange distances to provide an 18-hole experience. #1 and #10 teeboxes give a completely different look at the fairway.

11/9/00 - Elwood is an interesting course, two very different sets of tees allow you to enjoy an eighteen hole round that feels as if you played eighteen different holes, when you actually played the same nine twice. All the sprinkler heads were marked with laser yardages and there were also 100-150-200 yard markers in the center of every fairway. They also have chosen to be open to the public 7 days a week during winter months, which is nice. Thank you, we enjoyed it.
