Our Comments

The new clubhouse is an excellent addition. Good views of the course and new facilities.

This is a nice course for everyone. You probably need to be a long driver to get pars. There's 438 and 405 yard par 4s.

The locals play quite fast. We've never seen any slow-ups except after school lets out in the afternoons.

It's in the Noblesville city park so you can leave the family playing on the swings while you play golf.

Hint: don't park near the clubhouse - that area's right behind the 100yd uphill chip to the 9th hole.

7/21/04 - Having researched and complied a 52 page history of Forest Park and researched Bill Diddle work, there is no connection that Bill Diddle was the architect. What there is is the reference to noted Indianapolis park developer A W Brayton securing services of prominent golf architect Tom Bendelow of Chicago. Forest Park holds the distinction as the first course in Hamilton County and four of its key personalities are in the Indiana Golf Hall of Fame- Ralph Stonehouse, Bill Heinlien, Paul Gross, and Tom Meeks.

7/14/03 - This has to be one of the best courses for the money if you want to play nine holes. A mat on the first tee is disappointing, but the rest of the course was in great shape. The course was kept up well from tee to fairway to rough to green. Hopefully this course will emerge from the floods quickly. I'd like to be able to play it again soon. - Lance

5/3/03 - In great shape except for some brown out areas on a few of the middle greens. Not a lot of traffic for a crisp cool Thursday morning. Walking the course is a good time.

7/29/02 - I really enjoyed the course. The fairways were in good shape and the greens well maintained for the drought of late July. A very interesting #1 tee box off the carpet and a confusing # 4 with two greens (latter found out you play the upper green for 18 holes). A couple of the long par 4's made a challenging round of golf. - Kevin

4/20/01 - Found the course in wonderful condition. Greens firm and true, but would hold a well struck approach shot. Fairways were well conditioned. Walked a very leisurely 9 holes in less than 2 hours. An outstanding day of golf, especially for the $10 price.

4/5/01 - Forest Park is in great shape for the time of year and the weather we had. This is great news for us who love this exception value course - it looks like they are going to keep up the wonderful conditions that had last year. Those of us who have played the park for years cannot say enough about how well that course was maintained last year.

If you have not played Forest Park - make a note to play it. It is only 9 holes and is not a signature course by any stretch of the imagination - but the people and price make it a great deal. Just over a buck a hole to walk! In addition, the type of people who work there and who play there are the reason many of us got into golf.

I recommend their weekend morning choose-ups. I think they have some weekday ones as well. Call to find out more. Ask for Gary or Todd - 2 of the best guys you will ever meet. - Greg Golightly

9/22/00 - Have played Forest Park several times over the last month, including their Sunday morning choose ups. The course is in better shape then I ever recall (outside of the 8th tee box). In my opinion, there is no better course for the price ($10 for 9 holes on the weekdays). It is not the most glamorous course, but it is nice, long enough, and the people are very nice. The only thing that is missing is a brief description on the scorecard of how to play 18 (2 holes change). Many people are confused with that. The 4th hole has 2 greens, one for each 9 holes (the up green is not just a practice green). Keep up the great prices and course. - GregGolightly

5/31/00 - Found that the greens and fairways were in good shape. Was able to get right out and move along at a good pace. I really enjoy the 9th. Too bad hole #5 isn't played as a par 5. I plan on playing it more often.

5/4/00 - Played for the first time in several years. The fairways were in great shape and the greens were hard and fast. I enjoyed the round and the price was right.
