Our Comments

One of the best Municipal courses in Indiana. A bigger version of Pleasant Run in Indy. Nice touches like shade and seats at every tee box.

The front 9 is a par 33 at 2463 yds - no par 5s and 3 par 3s. The back 9 is a par 37 at 3000yds with 2 par 5s and only 1 par 3.

More than enough blind shots as you golf back and forth crosswise over high rolling hills.

8/27/02 - In excellent shape. Completely recovered from May's flooding. It would be nice if they'd just get real restrooms rather than those bug-infested gas station toilets.

4/02 - Grandview was flooded this May by the neighboring White River.

8/14/01 - Greens are soft and still fairly fast. Fairways and roughs are trimmed well. All in all, in good shape, especially when you factor in the large number of players this course gets. The collars around most slightly-elevated greens are very bad and can ruin a pitch-and-run game.

4/27/04 - For the first time out since the winter it was nice to play such a forgiving course that still offered challenge as well. Plenty of blind shots, plenty of open fairway. Yet, with the openness of the fairways came some small greens for targets, so your short game has to be on - because areas of the greens ROLL. The fairways were in excellent condition with nary a divot in sight. The course has many holes which play east or west, I felt I was playing blindly into the sun quite a bit, especially with the early start time. The Pro shop was well equipped and I plan to demo a club or two if I can. We played on a Saturday with a 7:12 tee time and practically had the entire course to ourselves. (As we were leaving around noon the course looked packed - might I suggest the earlier the better?)  The two of us played 18 and drove one cart for $25 dollars each. Overall, it was a nice course which offered enough challenge for a begging hack like me. - Chris Pustelnik

5/16/03 - Grandview is a fun and inexpensive place to play. The topography is not typical of central Indiana in that there are rolling fairways and high and low elevations from tee to green. I suggest you play after 12:00 on weekends or be prepared to wait. The current front nine has par 3 on the second and third holes which causes a backlog when busy. The management should consider reversing nines. - Roger Pettijohn

/3/03 - Overall, the course looks very good. The fairways are nice and green, and there are few (if any) dead spots on the course. The greens are another matter entirely. They still have not fully filled in for the year, and are extremely fast with little or no break. My friends and I have a saying, "Tee to green Grandview is great. Once you're on the green, add three strokes to your score and pick up the ball--it'll save you time."

This course isn't fancy but it is very peaceful and the people there are great. It is one of the easier courses to play, so if you are just a beginner this would be a great place for you to start.

A great bargain.

Hilly terrain makes this a fun little course. Open fairways and not much trouble make this course really fun to play.

Half price for junior golfers. Very crowded and slow play at times, but well worth it if you're not in a hurry.

This is one of the courses I cut my teeth on. It is pretty open and short. It is usually very busy on the weekends, heightened by back to back par 3's at #2 and #3. But it is a course I still enjoy playing!

I learned the game on this course when I was a kid, then returned to it a few years ago to find it a remarkably well-kept municipal course, especially given the very reasonable fee charged. Hard to get on because it is often crowded.
