Our Comments

Great use of tiny bunkers around greens. Some sand, some rough rough.

Hole # 2 is 109yds and must be shot over a mature tree to get on the green.

Many holes play toward or along the Pendleton Reformatory. Interesting wall but not very scenic.

The majority of the course marches back and forth on a flat plain. There is enough distance between fairways that cross-play isn't often a problem.

Active Saturday morning men's club.

8/26/01 - The grass is all green at Idlewold. Our only complaint is the small greens which are tough not to run over when pitching - but they are part of the challenge.

3/22/01 - Idlewold Golf Club has made some great improvements, with the personnel, structure of the course, and the hospitality. Only a person that has played there recently would see the great achievements they have made.

1/27/01 - Must hit accurate iron shots to small greens. Must be able to pitch, chip and putt. A good test of golf by all players. - Jerry Muterspaugh

This is a great little place! I love the rolling hills in the middle of the course. The 18th is a really nice finishing hole.

Perfect for a duffer like me: straight fairways, no underbrush, no water, nicely maintained.

Course Comments

One hint which might help you enjoy your round: We have parking below the clubhouse and down by the first tee, but our Pro Shop is up top in the Clubhouse. If you would like, feel free to stop up by the front door and take care of the fees and then drive down to the lower parking area and load up and get ready to grip it and rip it!

Also, we still ask you to purchase your alcohol from our snack bar, but we have lowered those prices too and we provide some nice coolers. - Scott Carey  - President
