7/18/99 - John Coombs - Indian Lake is a very interesting golf course. It's not visually spectuacular (like Heartland Crossing, the Brickyard, or the Fort), but it is subtly difficult. The course was in good shape (especially at this time of year), and it played fair. It is moderately difficult because the greens are small and fast but there aren't many places where you can lose strokes quickly. On the other hand, if the greens were well protected, this course would be a bear. Finally, Indian Lake is an old course for Central Indiana. It has a lot of mature trees, which can come into play (rare in Central Indiana), and it is a very enjoyable round of golf.
