Our Comments
Indian Springs, even though on somewhat hilly terrain, is
very accessible for those with walking problems. Carts are allowed
to park very close to greens and few up, down, or sidehill walks are
necessary.
Requires precision hitting on most holes to avoid having a
tree between you and the green.
Non-combative greens, always nice and spongy that holds
balls. Still the greens run true and straight.
Could use better distance marking, especially #4 which is
about 350 to the top of the hill and 110 from there to the green.
Note that the stakes are at 125 yds, not the normal 150. Basically,
learn to trust your eyes.
Indian Springs does not have barriers around greens. All
greens and tees are very accessible for those with walking problems.
Even though the terrain verges on hilly, with a cart even very
infirm golfers need never walk more than 30 or 40 feet.
The fairways are not heavily chemicalled - you'll even
find a few dandelions in the spring.
Jim III is the golf coach at Indiana Springs HS. The
Hagues' courses have a friendly atmosphere - highly recommended.
The par 3's are, well, par 3's. But the par 4's and the
par 5 are certainly memorable. #1: a long uphill then over or under
a big tree. #3: uphill to a dogleg right then down over a valley to
a green on the next hill. #4: at least two strokes uphill to a 90°
left 150 yds downhill and over water to the green. #7: blind shot
over a large pond.
6/30/03 - Greens are uncharacteristically nappy and slow.
5/6/03 - Now they have a full 18-hole Disc Golf course. |
