Our Comments

Short course. Built to modern bentgrass standards with high, steep mounding, great greens, smooth fairways, just like the the $60 courses; just shorter.

Among the surprises: cart cards.

Very pleasant place. The surrounding mobile home community only intrudes on the par 3 14th hole where neighbors are within errant tee-shot distance.

Actually, Meadowbrook is reminiscent of many retirement community courses in Central Florida.

Some nice risk and reward holes. The 17th is a good example.

Par 4 holes include 293, 347, 330, 290, 285, 335, 292 and 336 yds.

Very active men's and ladies' clubs.

6/24/03 - A really pleasant surprise from the time you park till the time you leave. Not only is the course in great shape, it's quite deceptively challenging and fun. The clubhouse is clean and open, and the everyone on the staff, including the grounds crew, are friendly and genuinely seem to enjoy their work. This place feels like one of those really nice little member-owned clubs we remember from times long past. - Jack Jones

5/28/03 - A nice course for the price, open except for lines of trees that get into play on some holes. A good driving range as well ($3 for 40 balls). Hot Dog Report: Nothing special with the dogs, chilli or cheese is not available and is on a regular bun. - Kyle

6/17/00 - A nice, reasonably priced course in a not so nice setting. Fairways and tees in good shape, excellent, difficult, not overly firm greens. Course is set among mobile homes, factories, huge power lines and the Anderson Speedway. - Martin Mahern
