Our Comments

You don't need a cart, a pull-cart, or even a bag. Just carry a wedge and a putter. Only two clubs are allowed to be carried by their rules. Handy putter stands are provided at each tee.

You hit from mats but they are good mats. Monster Mats. Just like hitting from very good, divotless grass. You'll love them.

The arrangement of holes gives progressively harder challenges.
#1&2 - no obstacles.
#3 - hit over sand.
#4-6 - tall grass encroaches on flight path.
#7 - tall grass and sand.
#8 - water to the side.
#9 - hit over water.

The "fairway" grass is kept somewhat long but not punitive.

Greens have some slope and swales. Kept medium fast but holds balls well.

9/17/03 - Fantastic, outstanding practice facility, very friendly staff. Best around. I will spending a lot of time here now that I discovered this little gem! - Dave

4/4/01 - This one of the best par 3 courses I have ever played. They very reasonable prices (play all you want for $10). This is also a very great course for beginners because total yardage of the nine holes is 575. The greens were in great condition and the fairways were fair.. haha. I recommend this course to any beginner and to any golfer who wants to warm up for the season.

4/22/00 - Greens are larger than you would think for a nine hole pitch and putt. This is a great way to work on your 90 yard and in shots.

Course Philosophy

Northeast Golf & Practice Center was built to meet the needs of every type of golfer. It is our belief that the game of golf should be learned from the hole back. In other words, a golfer should learn to putt, chip, and pitch the ball in the above order. Once these skills have been learned, the full swing is much easier to grasp.

With this in mind, we have built Indy's first Pitch & Putt Golf Course. This 9-hole course has bentgrass greens and bunkers just like you will find on a regulation golf course. The difference is the holes are all between 50 and 100 yards. In tournament play you are allowed only two clubs.

We feel our Pitch & Putt will provide the beginning golfer a place to learn the game, as well as the experience golfer a place to sharpen his/her skills. Above all else, we feel golf should be affordable, accessible, and fun. We are certain the Pitch & Putt meets all three criteria.

The clubhouse was damaged and the range stalls destroyed in the tornado of 2002. Lance & Kyle were inside at the time.
It's all rebuilt now, of course.
