Course Details

Description: Hilly, course built by removing as few trees as possible in a hilly, wooded area. Many short holes include 4 par 4s under 300yds. The 2 long holes are 550yds each, both double doglegs.

The front half is rolling with plenty of elevation changes. The back half is downright hilly and comparatively mean.

Built: 1992.

Fairway grass: Bermuda grass. Great drainage, ready to play right after a couple of inches of rain.

Fairway width: Front half, wide. Back half, narrowing. Lots of room (or trees) between fairways.

Green size: Average

Water: On 5 holes.

Sand: Sand traps on many holes. They change things around every year.

Course Marking: Stakes at 150 yards.

Blind Holes: None.

Signature Hole: Hole # 16, a 435yd par 5, has a left-to right sloping uphill fairway that doglegs right through a narrow opening in a grove to a protected green.

Walking: Hole # 16 is a long uphill walk from green to tee. Some others are a fair distance, but all are interesting walks. Hilly terrain.

Our Comments

Quite nice scenery. Holes 6, 8, 12, 14, 15, and 16 are woodsy situations worthy of the finest resort course.

Not long but with sand, water, and woods offers many challenges to the average golfer. If you can stay in the sometimes narrow fairways you can score very well.

The 235yd #10 is bit a downhill to the green and a really good drive can roll between both protective sand traps to reach the green. Enjoy.

Worth the drive from Indianapolis.

Plenty of blind shots. If you don't know the course, a cart will come in very handy to scout the holes.

04/20/07—This course just went under new ownership. The new owners are taking much better care of the course and are planning to rework the bunkers and such. Greens are in the best shape they have been in for years.
