Course Details

Description: Very flat, open course with few obstructions. Only 2 holes have significant elevation changes. Beginners can play with better golfers and both enjoy the day.

Built: 1901. Redesigned in 1996

Fairway grass: Bluegrass. Hard during late summer but still green.

Fairway width: Average, some quite narrow.

Greens: Bentgrass. Some tricky.

Green size: Average.

Water: No.

Sand traps: Some.

Course Marking: Stakes at 100, 150, 200 yards.

Blind Holes: None.

Signature Hole: #13 (392yds) requires a long drive out to the right so you can look up a 40ft cliff to the green. Normally a second shot further down and right is needed so a high chip has a chance at the green.

Walking: Only Hole # 13 is a problem, a stiff, uphill hike to the green.

Policies

Dress Code: Shirts must be worn at all times. No tank tops.

Shoes: Metal spikes allowed.

Groups: Will group to 3- or 4-somes on weekends. 5-somes allowed when not busy.

Coolers: Not allowed. All beverages must be bought at the clubhouse.

Alcohol: Available.

Carts: Few barriers. Carts allowed on fairways, conditions permitting.

Owner: Indianapolis City Parks.

Head Pro: Mark A. Nance.

Superintendent: Dave Stiles.
