Our Comments

Some long but fair holes. Most of the holes tend to narrow down just in front of the green.

The par 3's seem to play long.

Valle Vista's layout really lacks, er, character. Two par 5s and twelve perfectly straight par 4s, nine of which are between 350 and 410 yards. Sand protecting elevated greens. A single tree in front of the green on 13 is remarkable as a rare obstacle. The distance is the major difference between most holes.

8/30/01 - After a rainy morning the greens were soft and held well. Fairways were wet and almost spotless. Rough smooth and short. Tee boxes in rough shape with crabgrass.

8/14/03 - One of the nicer, less challenging courses I have played. Valle Vista doesn't offer much in the way of a challenge for me, but there are a number of holes that will always seem to eat you alive if you cant hit straight. Prices are a little high, and the discounts don't offer much, but the course seems to always be in excellent condition. The fairways and greens are always cut nicely. I would definitely suggest Valle Vista Golf Course to anybody who enjoys playing golf. It's worth the extra buck. - Adam Conn

7/15/03 - The best course on the south side. In the best shape I have ever seen; the fairways were spotless, greens are the best I have seen around Indy (could be faster), tees are great, and the staff was the best. I like it so much I bought a membership. - Bob D.

5/13/03 - The course wasn't in bad shape, but the hospitality was awful. It was 85 degrees that day, no water on the course and the snack bar closed at 5:30. - Dustin

9/30/02 - II played 3 to 4 days after that big rain spell, and there was still standing water. There is new irrigation and drainage ditch work, which will be nice. The greens however are in good shape. Not many pockmarks, soft and puttable. I still will play there often, just not any more this year. Not worth the full price, but maybe for the fall/winter or twilight rates. - Adam B.

4/22/01 - Course was in very good shape, especially compared to courses in same price range. Fairways in good early condition, greens very receptive and smooth. Rough was very thick and deep, although it appeared that they have begun to cut it down a little on the back 9. However, I would much rather play from thick consistent rough than the shoddy inconsistent rough found at most low priced courses. Snack bar unimpressive, it's kinda like a VFW in there. New scorecard with yardage help would be good improvement for a little effort. The course itself is a very good value for your buck and fun to play. - Mark Owens

8/1/00 - I absolutely love Valle Vista and have a membership. It's too bad that it is impossible to get a tee time in the afternoon except on Sunday. This is due to Valle Vista's catering to every league and company golf outing in town. Usually there are no open tee times after 3:00 Monday through Friday. The weekends are also very tough because of various leagues and choose-ups. I would just warn others to be wary of buying what seems to be a good membership because it cannot be used to the fullest. Please leave one weekday open for public play!

7/8/00 - I love playing VV. The course is relatively short aside from a few long par 4's and it forces you to play smart golf with very narrow fairways and challenging placements. But ever since I started playing V V, their management has been going down hill. For a HUGE conference center, their snack bar is the pits. Let's at least cut up some onions for the brats.
