4/22/07—I have played this course in the past and have always
felt it was a good bargain. I played on April 22, 2007 and paid 49
bucks for a course that played like a $35 course at best. The greens
had inconsistent spots and blemishes all over them. The fairways
were uncut (we haven't had rain for awhile). The tee boxes looked
like a tour event came through and the boxes were never moved. The
staff was nice I just feel like 49 was too high to drive all the way
out there. - Ed
Very nice course, not overly long, but rough can be
unbearable. Hit it straight or your score will soar.
Well worth the price, clubhouse excellent.
Nice elevation changes. This course can be very scenic.
The front nine is a scottish-links style, the back nine is more
traditional with woods and severe elevation changes. It is always an
enjoyable and challenging round. The condition is super, better than
local $25,000 country clubs.
In my opinion, the best new course in the Indianapolis
area. Ron Kern did an excellent job in creating a course that
challenges the better player to properly determine a strategy, yet
remains fun and exceptionally playable for higher handicaps.
The most prominent design feature of this course is the
bunkering, which is reminiscent of the dug-in bunkers found on many
links courses.
Many green complexes are constructed to encourage a
bump-and-run approach.
The front nine is mostly situated in the open (although
houses will eventually encroach on a few holes), bringing the wind
into play. The back nine is brilliantly routed through a wooded
creek valley that simply presents one great hole after another.
This course is easily walked, and the pro has assured me
that walking will always be unrestricted. |
