our comments

A family-owned course that offers great service.

Outing area for cookouts. Facilities for night golf tournaments.

Nasty, nasty greens. There's a tendency to have a big slope with the pin set on a small level area right in the middle.

Holes 7 and 8 are seemingly quite short at 268 and 234 yds but are both legitimate, challenging par 4s.

5/6/03 - For 2003, they have cleared out the bushes and scrub trees on the hill on the 9th hole. This gives a clear shot down to the fairway. The 9th tee is the highest point in Boone Co.

9/15/02 - All of the damage noted below (6/6/02) has been fixed.

6/6/02 - Zionsville was caught out by the rains and have some pumps running on the back side. It's really interesting taking a golf cart across a rickety wooden bridge that is under water! A pond overflowed and killed the grass on a large patch of the 7th fairway.

9/27/01 - Good fairways. The family of badgers living under the tree on #8 is doing well.

8/10/04 - My son and I enjoy this course quite a bit. Not real tough, but challenging enough for a hacker (me) and a beginner (my son). Always well maintained and the price is right.

5/27/04 - The greens 'bounce'. I hit wedge shots that bounced 6 feet in the air and didn't hold. With no bunkers to maintain, I wonder why the turf conditions aren't better.

7/6/03 - It poured rain all morning and many of the surrounding courses were closed but Zionsville was open. Overall the course was in excellent condition. There was some standing water on 4 and 5 but this just made the course a little more challenging. A terrific place for a relaxed round. Some well-placed trees make for interesting play. I really enjoyed this course and if I'm in the area will definitely play again. - Roger

5/13/03 - My son and I played the other day and the course was in great shape. It looks like they remodeled the pro shop and painted the building. It really looked improved. We had a great time. - Brian Pumper

9/26/02 - What really impresses me about the Zionsville nine hole course is that it is the perfect place to come with your 7 year old son and have a weekly father and son outing that brings us closer together through the form of competition. Reasonably priced and never long lines to tee off. - Patrick Appleton

9/20/02 - Greens were outstanding. I am a bogey shooter but found it difficult to shoot in the 40's on these challenging greens. The fairways were in good shape and the young man working in the pro shop was quite enjoyable. I will definitely play again. - Jeff Mazelin

9/6/02 - Zionsville is a nice course for beginners and intermediate players. Wide open allows for good approach shots, but watch out for tough greens on Nos. 5, 6 and 8.The tee at No. 9, a medium-length Par-4, provides one of the prettiest views around on a beautiful fall day.

6/22/02 - Thought the course was pretty well maintained. They have cut down some trees on 5 and is a bit easier to get through if you slice it off the tee. The greens were hard as rocks and I rolled off the back of the majority of them. Golfers moved along quickly and playing through was never an issue. Overall, for a low cost 9 hole course Zionsville is a good bargain. - Guy

11/5/01 - If you're looking for a quick 9 this may be your course. The slope on the 8th green makes it difficult to two putt.

6/21/99 - Rick Underwood - Found the course deceptive - just enough rough to throw your game off. Super greens - found them to be fast, fair and true. Will be back again. Course management friendly.
